Industrialized Education

RSA Animate - Changing Education Paradigms
I got this from Christine at welcome to my brainThis is an excellent illustration of many of the reasons I am apprehensive about public education especially where my free-spirit Amélie is concerned.   I was given a very hard time by some about my decision not to sent Amélie to kindergarten this year.  I wish I would have had this to refer to during that time, but I am glad I have seen it now.  Thank you Christine!

Von your made a really good point about this on your blog, low income and disenfranchised youth (foster kids, adoptees, low income children) are more likely to be medicated than their counterparts. (my earlyer post mother's little helper re; the New Your Times article about off lable drug use on young children)

I have a child (of my own) with attention/focus problems; she likes what she likes and has no interest in what she doesn’t. She has red 12 novels in the past 3 weeks but forgets to turn in her home work. How do we get our kids more engaged in schools that are BORING? (Or in her case work with “the worst teacher in the world”)
