Hump Day

Well this is it…Hump Day for NaBloPoMo (than is National Blog Posting Month for you non-playas, LOL) and National Adoption Awareness Month.

I have managed to post something every day so far this month, being that attention span and follow-through are not my strong suits, that I am dyslexic, hate writing and rarely showed up to school after 5th grade, I’m feeling pretty good about how things are going so far.

Of course I started this thing without any idea what it was about or what I was doing and not knowing what, if any, the “rules” were. It wasn’t until something on Linda’s Blog – Real Daughter / Adopted Daughter that it dawned on me there might BE any “rules” when she said something about “approval”. Ruh Roh, Shaggy, we’re RUCKED. Approval? To qualify for prizes? Heck I didn’t even know it was a contest! How just like me can I be?

I went back and actually read the info on NaBloPoMo. Well at least I had registered my blog…I spent the week end submitting my first 14 days of posts (I am so sorry) for approval. The best news of all was this little gem of a quote here -“NaBloPoMo ignores the quality of your posts and rewards the quantity!” SWEET!!!! I am confident in my ability to prattle on for another 15 days, if quality is no object.

So…here we go…we are half way there…Post on, my friends…Post on!

* This post is a part of my National Adoption Awareness Month, a post every day in November campaign, to remind perspective adoptive parents that there are 140,000 kids for whom family preservation is not an option, who through no fault of their own are currently available for adoption in the U. S. foster care system, right here in our own back yard.  If you are considering adoption please consider adopting a foster child or becoming a foster parent.  It could change a child’s life.

Rules what rules? Well guess I'm exempt anyway so that's ok, I'll just do my thing as usual.Happy day.

NaNoBloMo? That's awesome! I've heard of it's cousin, but this blog-specific one is new to me...

I know how tough writing daily can be, so major props! For a year I maintained 3 blogs that required me to write every single day. It sucked horribly, and I will never do it again!

Rules? We don't need no stinkin' rules... we're adopted, remember? The same rules as every one else don't seem to apply to us.

(Well, you aren't adopted but we'll let you slide!)

Your post made me laugh!

Your Blog looks great! keep up the great work! For someone who says she doesn't like to write, you are doing an awesome job!

Ok, Von, I didn't really read the rules, I glanced at them. I think the big thing is that they don't want NaBloPoMo bloggers to advertise or add advertising for that month. When you submit your posts to the NaBloPoMo blog, they hold them for approval. I think there are other bloggers from out side the states, not sure though.

Tristan, a man of your word, I love it! My DH thinks they should change the name from NaBloPoMo, because it reminds him of a less "savory" organization.

Just Me, LOL, Us foster kids are just bastards, even among bastards, we just don't belong anywhere, woah is me. thanks for letting me slide in.

Thank you Kim, I just keep right on ticking.

Oh, and BTW, I true former foster fashion, I do much better at following the rules when I have no idea what they are..."Give me a rule, I'll find the exception."
